Windows 7

Make the Move

Widows 7- Want to Upgrade? Have Questions?

If you are ready to upgrade to Windows or simply have questions about the process, and whether or not you can do it, we can help. There are two paths of upgrading, the standard upgrade, and a clean install. If upgrading from Windows XP, a clean install is necessary, and if upgrading from Vista, you can do either a standard upgrade or a clean install.

What's the difference you ask?

A standard upgrade installs the necessary files over top of your existing files, keeping your programs and personal files such as music, pictures, and documents in place. This is the easiest path but not necessarily the best approach. A clean install basically wipes your drive clean, and then installs a fresh copy. This generally results in a more stable operating system; however your programs, personal files, and other customizations would need to be reinstalled and restored.

Ready for Upgrade!

E.A. Technologies is ready to help you start the process or just answer questions. You can use the links to the right to initiate the process or call us at 302.993.1111.

What we do:

  • First we remote into your system and run an assessment to determine if you can upgrade to Windows 7, and what would be the best approach
  • Then we work with you to determine the best version of Windows 7 to purchase and install (Home, Professional, or Ultimate)
  • We will purchase the software on your behalf, or use your own purchased version
  • Schedule a time that’s convenient for you to come out and pick up your computer. (standard upgrades can be done onsite if you prefer)
  • Backup you personal files
  • Perform the upgrade and then restore any files if necessary
  • Run updates, defragment your hard drive, and clean your registry
  • Return your computer (if done offsite), hook it up, and get it back online or on your network
  • Give you a brief introduction to Windows 7 and answer any questions
